0300 telephone numbers have been allocated for the use of public sector bodies and non-profit organisations such as charities.
Ofcom, the telecommunications regulator, introduced 0300 numbers so that consumers could have “confidence in the cost of their calls”.
You only pay the same amount as a landline call to a 01 or a 02 number.
Calls from mobiles are not surcharged, remaining the same as applied by your provider.
